SAUNA IDEA PROJECT
Main structure
General size 250 x 180 (2,5m x 1,8 m)
The metal poles can be used. The left on is leveled. The other ones need levelling.
6×10, 5×10, 10×10 can be used to build the base floor structure (at least 10 cm on one side).
From the metal poles the floor will rise at least 15-25cm (with final floor coverage).
The middle long base 5×10 (250cm) should be attached to the metal poles by using a same sized ca 2 m long 5×10 on the bottom side of the poles and attach the two using bolts.
This will give a depth apprx 180 cm. On the upper side level the ground where the floor structure will base (against humidity).
After using the metal poles as base for the floor structure, the underneath void can be filled with stones to give extra strenght to the base. Keep in mind that the structure will sink inevitably a little bit – make the lower side angle slightly upwards in comparison to the upper one, so when it sinks, the slope will not be downhill. Good idea would be in general to make the leveled surface angles not exactly flat, but very slightly backwards.
On the back at the bottom, where the base touches the ground, should be a 90 degree bent metal protection to drive away the rainwater left and right. To keep the rainwater passing underneath the building, which otherwise can remove terrain with time and compromise the balance of the structure.
The 180 depth can be divided more or less into 2 parts – one for the upper part (the sitting part) and the lower part (the walking part). Both ca. 90 cm. The upper part can be all the lenght of the sauna (250 apprx). In the end of the lower part there is a 70 cm space for the sauna oven. The upper level can be used as a sleeping surface ( 250 x 90 ). The lower ( 180 x 90 ) also ( by someone shorter maybe )
The height of the room should be at least 200, preferably 220. The height of the upper sitting part 70-75, leaving a 130cm apprx space for sitting, which should be enough for most of people to sit without having the head in the ceiling.
The slope of the roof very slightly downhill ( almost unnoticeable).
The Base:
5×10:
250 x 3 = 750
180 x 4 = 720
Total ca. 1500 (15 m)
Total floor surface (oven included) ca 4,5 m2
Walls & Roof :
5×10:
250 x 11 = 2750
200 x 4 = 800
90 x 3 = 270
Total 3820 – ca. 4000 (40 m )
Total wall area ca. 21,5 m2 (including door and window)
Total roof area ca. 5m2 (depending how long the edges are)
Lenght of 5 x 10 needed is aprrox 55 m. The lenght of one piece bought should be at least 3 m.
The connections are made using bolts and screws in pre-drilled holes.
The door and window can be made using tempered glass.
The oven door is located outside on the right side, opposite to the entrance door.
Inside is the oven’s back part with stones on top and the chimney that goes to the roof.
